Community Participation
Life wasn’t meant to be lived alone. Getting out and about, meeting people, building friendships and participating in fun activities is an important part of living a full and active life. For people with disability, this requires accessing the right support, so they can do the things they love. Social and Community Participation is all about helping people you be part of your community. This could be having a support worker help you participate in your favourite sport, getting transport to a regular activity, learning and practicing a new skill, or staying at an overnight camp in the holidays.
05
Personal Care
The term “personal” care is as subjective as it gets. After all, we have our own habits unique to us, which makes them personal. As we get older and experience illness, injury, or disability, the ability to feel fresh and clean isn’t just a privilege, it’s a fundamental right that we all need. It’s beneficial to our overall health and well-being, but feeling clean makes us feel more confident and happier, especially when it’s time to head out.
06

NDIS Support Coordination
Living with a disability can be very challenging. But, for many Australians, government support is available. The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) was put in place by the Australian federal government to help disabled people in every aspect of their lives. Close to 4.5 million Australians currently live with some sort of disability, which is why it is essential for the government to have measures in place to help. The NDIS will provide funding for support and services for those with disabilities.
